How Do GLP-1s Work for Weight Loss?
GLP-1s such as Semaglutide and Tirzepatide target an area in the brain (called GLP-1 receptors) that help to regulate your appetite and how much you eat. It closely mimics a natural hormone in the body called incretin, which is made primarily in our digestive tract.
GLP-1s are used as a long-term weight loss treatment in addition to a healthy diet and exercise to help promote weight loss.

To begin your treatment, you need to start with phase 1. This is a gradual process that helps your body get used to the medication safely over several weeks. GOAL.MD has two options for you to choose from: the Standard Launch program and the Quick Launch program, which is exclusive to GOAL.MD.

Having been a dancer for the New Orleans Saints Saintsations I was very active, fit and confident dancing in my two piece costume. What happens when I hit my goal weight?
Some patients choose to stop taking Semaglutide when they reach their goal weight, but we do offer an optional continued service called “Maintenance Mode”. While in maintenance mode your dosage is reduced back to a point where you are neither losing or gaining weight. This continued support is a wonderful option for those concerned about regaining weight.
Does this program include the meds?
Yes, This program includes everything required including the semaglutide medication mailed to your home as well as continued care from your dedicated physician.
What are the possible side effects of the medication?
The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, headache, fatigue, dizziness, bloating, gas, and heartburn. More serious side effects may include pancratitis, gallbladder problems, kidney problems, serious allergic reactions, increased heart rate and depression.
Can you drink alcohol while on the medication?
Yes, but you may feel full more quickly and many have reported a sharp decreased desire to consume alchohol while taking semaglutide.
Is it a pill or an injection?
Injection. We have chosen to offer our patients the injection as opposed to the pill.
